SeaSpace padel in Newquay: our pick for a coastal padel break

Two padel rackets and yellow balls beside a net on a blue court

For a coastal break built around padel, SeaSpace at Porth is our pick from the venues in our coastal shortlist. Its appeal is the combination: singles and doubles courts, roof cover, sessions for newcomers and the option to stay on site, with Porth Beach close by.

This is an editorial recommendation based on published facilities and visitor information, rather than a first-hand playing review. We have not tested the court surfaces, coaching or service. For a holiday with time both on court and beside the sea, though, SeaSpace offers a particularly useful starting point.

Why SeaSpace stands out for a padel break

The venue has five courts: three for doubles and two dedicated to singles. That gives couples an alternative to finding another pair, while groups of four can book a doubles game. SeaSpace describes roof cover over the courts; that is useful for planning, although a covered court should not be confused with a fully enclosed indoor hall.

Day visitors are welcome, so staying at the aparthotel is optional. That makes the venue relevant whether you are booking a Cornwall weekend or already have accommodation elsewhere. See SeaSpace’s padel information for the facilities and guest arrangements.

Your first game: choose a coached session

UK Padel, which operates the courts, distinguishes between coached beginner sessions and beginner mix-ins. The former teach newcomers how to play; a mix-in is a chance to practise with other players without a coach in attendance.

For a first visit, book the coached introduction. It is a better way to spend that first session than trying to work out wall rebounds and positioning while the court clock runs down. A mix-in makes more sense once you know the basics and want people to play with.

The operator also lists open matches and training opportunities. Check the level requirements and current dates in the UK Padel Newquay booking system, rather than assuming a recurring session will run during your stay.

How much does padel at SeaSpace cost?

Check the live price for your date, court type and session length before committing to the trip. UK Padel says prices may be shown for individual players or for a whole-court booking, with membership status affecting the total. Compare like with like when splitting the cost between friends.

SeaSpace states that racket and ball hire is included in the booking fee for staying guests. Day visitors should confirm their equipment charge. Ask where to collect the kit and whether that collection point will be staffed at your chosen time.

There is also conflicting advance-booking information on the two official websites: SeaSpace lists a six-day non-member window, while UK Padel lists seven. Use the live booking calendar, or contact the operator, before arranging travel around a particular slot. UK Padel’s Newquay contact is [email protected].

Make room for Porth Beach

SeaSpace puts Porth Beach at around a five-minute walk down the road. That proximity is the main reason to consider a game here as part of a coastal break: the court booking can be one part of the day, leaving time for a walk or a few hours on the sand.

A sensible plan is to play first, change, have lunch and leave the afternoon flexible. Avoid booking every hour of the day around a game that may leave you wanting a slower afternoon.

Read SeaSpace’s Porth guide for local context. Check current beach conditions and seasonal restrictions separately if swimming or bringing a dog is part of your plan.

Staying at SeaSpace

Accommodation includes studios and two- and three-bedroom apartments with kitchens and lounge areas. That could suit a group wanting to organise meals around court bookings, or a couple fitting a game into a longer Cornwall trip.

Check the actual bed layout when booking for friends: some accommodation includes bunk beds, so the headline number of guests is not enough to judge whether it suits your group. Confirm what your room rate includes and book padel separately unless the offer explicitly says otherwise. Browse the studios and apartments for the options.

Getting there and accessibility

Address: SeaSpace, Watergate Road, Porth, Newquay, Cornwall, TR7 3LX. SeaSpace’s general contact number is 01637 872864.

For a train journey, plan your arrival at Newquay station and arrange the onward journey to Porth. The venue is outside the town centre; use the directions link below to compare routes from your accommodation.

The padel courts have step-free access directly from the car park, with equipment hire available from reception. SeaSpace also lists accessible toilets in the café and six accessible parking spaces. Confirm any specific court, changing or parking requirements before booking; the accessibility guide gives further details.

On-site parking is available for accommodation guests, but day visitors should confirm where to park and any conditions before arriving.

Open SeaSpace in Google Maps for directions.

A local court booking or an organised trip?

A stay near SeaSpace lets you arrange accommodation and court time separately. If you would rather book a trip built around the sport, compare organised padel holidays and check the coaching, court hours, equipment and transfers included. This is a different approach to booking SeaSpace directly; confirm the actual destination and venue offered before paying.

When another venue would suit you better

SeaSpace gets our recommendation for the overall coastal-break combination, rather than an absolute claim to be the best court in Britain. If your priority is fully indoor play, Cross Court’s Poole and Bournemouth centres are the more relevant choices from our shortlist. They advertise indoor courts, equipment rental, coaching and social sessions. Check Cross Court’s timetable and booking options if weather protection matters more than staying close to a beach.

For SeaSpace, start with the game you want: singles with a partner, doubles with friends or a coached introduction. Check that it is available, price the complete booking and then build the rest of the break around it.
