Alnwick Garden Winter Lights 2026: Lilidorei, tickets and travel guide

Official Winter Lights promotional artwork for The Alnwick Garden

The Alnwick Garden’s Winter Lights returns on selected dates from 20 November 2026 to 3 January 2027, combining the garden trail with an evening visit to Lilidorei. Alnwick is inland, making this a separate excursion for visitors staying along the Northumberland coast.

How the combined ticket works

Your ticket has an allocated entry time for The Alnwick Garden. Lilidorei can be visited before or after that slot, once its evening opening begins at 4.30pm. Allow enough time for both parts rather than arriving only for the final garden slot. The two largest slides close after dark, so do not promise children unrestricted access to all daytime play features.

Dates, prices and booking

The programme uses selected evenings rather than every date within the advertised range. The event page lists saver, standard and premium price bands, with early-bird rates from £11.50, £18 and £20.50 respectively at the time of checking. Those advertised early-bird rates expire on 31 October 2026. Check the current price, ticket eligibility and chosen date in the official booking calendar; do not assume an early-bird price will apply later in the season.

Driving and parking

The Garden recommends following the A1 signs and using NE66 3RA to reach the correct off-ramp, then following brown tourist signs. Its car park is off Denwick Lane, with postcode NE66 1FJ. The current contact page lists parking at £3.50 per car per day; confirm whether your evening booking changes that arrangement. Use the visitor car park destination rather than the administrative office postcode.

By train or bus

Alnmouth is the nearest mainline railway station, about four miles away. The Garden advises an onward taxi or bus to Alnwick. Plan that connection alongside your ticket time, and check the last return journey before choosing a late slot. Local bus information is linked from the Garden’s directions page. Do not confuse Alnwick with Alnmouth when arranging a pickup.

Families and access

Only assistance dogs are admitted to the event. The Garden publishes accessibility and sensory information, and its 2026 visitor guide lists a Changing Places toilet in the gift shop. Contact the venue in advance about mobility equipment or the particular evening route. Bring warm waterproof layers and suitable footwear, and allow time for toilets and refreshments between the two attractions. Check for weather updates before setting off and save the tickets where you can find them easily at entry.
