The Newton Abbot College has been hosting two Swedish students for the past three weeks during which they had a chance to find out what the school was all about. Bromangymasiet School in Hudiksvall sent Mustafa Attaie and Herman Avsarki who have spent their time here shadowing the administrative staff as part of an exchange program as they sought to get a better understanding of how the college works. The college has a relationship with the school in Sweden that goes back 10 years and the two have used the partnership to give their staff a chance to share expertise and also give the students an opportunity to experience English culture.
Regarding their visit, Mustafa said that the college had been very welcoming and over the three weeks, their grasp of the English language has improved and they are hoping to take some of the ideas back to Sweden and put them to practice in their school. He said that both the students and the staff had taught them a lot.
Nick Hill, the business manager at Newton Abbot College also spoke about the exchange and said that it was the second time that they had welcomed students on work experience into the college. He mentioned that the two Swedes were very engaged during their time there and they’d learnt quite a number of business disciplines that will assist them in their careers in the future. He concluded by saying that the college was quite happy to have had the chance to strengthen their links with the Swedish School and they were hoping that the relationship would continue to grow in the future.
