The Sandown Fun Day will be returning today and the event will be supporting the Sandown Carnival, KissyPuppy and Sandown and Shanklin Independent Lifeboat. The event will start at half past ten in the morning and conclude at half past three in the afternoon when the grand prize draw will be held with as much as £500 in cash to be won.
There will also be food hampers, jewellery, Gift vouchers, hotel breaks, Camp Bestival tickets among others. The tickets will be available in shops around Sandown for 50p only.
There will be much to see during the day including Magic Andy, Victorian funfair, Ryde extreme performers, Dance Vibez and others. There will also be a fancy dress competition. All you need to do to enter is to enter the Fancy Dress Photo Booth and a photographer will take a photo of you and you will be entered into the competition where you could win tickets to Bestival. There will also be Stalls, stands and tombolas in the hall in case the wind gets too high.
If you need a last minute gift or sample, you can easily find something fitting in the stalls at the street market. You can also find Muzza’s mulled wine, sweets, candy-floss, roast chestnuts and pie &mash. Live music from the Salvation Army band, Baptist Church carols, Spike Oatley, Something about Mondays and Company B will also be there.
Santa will also be coming on his sleigh at around 10.30 in case the kids have a last minute request. They will be able to find him in his Grotto at around half past three in the afternoon. The Inshore Rescue lifeboat will also be showing until 1 pm.The section of the High Street between the Albert Road and Pier Street junctions will be closed all day.
