The largest gin festival in the UK is coming to Eastbourne and all indications point to it being a great event. More than 100 different gins from the UK and other countries will be at the event which will also have exclusive gins that you may not come across in any other place. These are custom made by both small producers and the well know gin manufacturers. However, the event will be more than just about gin. There will also be food and live music in addition to the gin cocktail bar. There will be masterclasses for gin and those in attendance will also have a chance to meet gin distillers, talk about the gin and try out free samples. If you find something you like and wish to take it with you, there will be bottles of gin and other gin related products that you’ll be able to purchase and take with you.
The organisers said that they love to go to new locations and venues and thought that this was a good time to bring the event to Eastbourne and they were hoping that the people of the area were as excited about the festival as they were to come to Eastbourne. The gin festival is scheduled for 27th and 28th October and will be hosted at the Kings Centre. There will be evening sessions which will be starting at 6.30pm and ending at 11 pm. There will also be an afternoon session on Saturday and this will run from half past noon to 5 in the evening. Only people of 18 years of age and above will be allowed at the event. General admission tickets will be going on sale for £16 but there will also be a few ‘Early Bird’ tickets that will be going for £13 each.
The Gin Festival was first held in Leeds and was started by Jym and Marie Harris, a husband and wife. The two are great fans of gin and wanted to come up with an event that would allow gin lovers to come and try out new gins or find out more about the drink while also having a good time. The events have gotten bigger and better since that time and the shows bring with them a lot more brands of gin to choose from and a lot of knowledge from industry experts.
