The crew of the Yarmouth RNLI pulled a woman in her 20s from the Solent earlier this morning, June 28, and she is currently undergoing treatment at the St Mary’s Hospital located in Newport. The Solent Coastguard was alerted that there was a female in the water prompting the volunteer lifeboat crew to launch before 20 minutes past six. The lifeboat met with paramedics who had come in from the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service at the Yarmouth harbour and the paramedics moved the lady to the hospital where she is currently being treated.
It is believed that the lady spent more than one hour in the water and could be undergoing treatment for symptoms of hypothermia.
